We were able to hire two new teachers to join our Adams Team!! They will begin with us in January, but may be visiting us in December as well! Welcome Renea Smith to 2nd grade and Keauna Whitright when you see them! They are currently student teachers in MPS that will be graduating next month!

Dear Adams' Fam!!
😍 Can you believe we will have two days next week and then it's Thanksgiving! Because of the short week - let's make sure that no time is wasted during the following week. Whether you work in the cafeteria or in the classroom - we can all help our students to learn things like manners or how to write a paragraph. We can make sure we're using positive reinforcement when we hear our students saying please, thank you, excuse me, playing nicely or helping a friend. I've been pushing on the announcements to have all staff try to give out Tiger Tickets when you're out and about around campus - not only will this help our students, it will also help you - focusing on the positive truly does make a difference for you. Let's challenge each other to recognize the good we see on campus and in each other!

Thank you to all of our teachers for helping us make Red Ribbon Week a success. We will continue to improve it each year.
We started our attendance groups this week for 2-6th grade students who have missed 12 or more days of school in the first quarter.

And Special Visits
We have no special visits next week - but we do have Adams teachers who are doing an awesome job visiting each other to hone their skills! Thank you again to those of you who have been willing to do this on both ends - and to those of you who have helped with coverage to be able to make this happen!
Also we are going to start up AVID lab school on Thursday, January 6th from 3-5. This is a paid training through the district - I'll let you know when you can register on GROW!

WE NEED PARENT INVOLVEMENT! We want our parents to be partners in their children's education so here are some opportunities for them to do that:
We are inviting all parents for the first time onto campus for our Turkey Trot 11/23 Tuesday morning!
We have our first PTO meeting of the school year coming up on Tuesday 11/30 @ 11:10 in room 39 - we likely will be changing the times/dates for future meetings to accommodate working parents - but we thought we'd start with our Family Literacy parents and anyone else who could attend - so please advertise to your families!

I have seen so many more teachers writing and utilizing Success Criteria with their students!! You all are doing an amazing job and really improving learning on our campus because of it! Thank you for your willingness to experiment, grow, and learn for your students!
