Renee was at an AVID meeting for Title 1 Specialists and AVID site coordinators and Adams was given a shout out by not 1 but by 2 different schools - they were both junior highs and were super impressed with what our students were doing with AVID the last time they visited our campus! In fact - I have been impressed with what I've seen in regards to AVID as I've popped into classrooms lately too! We drifted a bit last school year - but we are right back at it this year and I feel like it looks even better - Definitely something to celebrate!!!
Dear Adams' Fam!!
I am starting to come into rooms for informal observations - and so far lesson plans are looking good - they're in the google folder where they're supposed to be, kids are working hard, most people have Learning Targets posted (those that aren't at least have them in their plans), Success Criteria are being used, & best of all kids seem happy to be here! Let's keep it that way and not let the momentum from the beginning of the year start to wane. If you need help PLEASE ask! I love to talk about teaching and learning - if you're not sure about something - then put it out there - others may have the same wonderings as you and you may be helping them too by asking the question! In the end - you'll definitely be helping students too!
PLEASE tell me what you would like to observe in another room - no matter how awesome you already are - there is something you can learn from others on campus! I shouldn't be the only one with the luxury of seeing all of the amazing things happening in your classrooms. I promise you will get something out of observing others. We can get coverage for your classroom during those observations - or if you'd like to do it during a recess we can definitely make that work too!
Adams team - We got this!

Take some time for yourself this weekend.
Fastbridge Screener will need to be completed by August 30th, so we can use the data for our Professional Learning on Progress Monitoring on Sept. 1. A big THANK YOU to our Reading Lab Ladies-Linda, Norina, Susan and Debbie for helping with the Kinder and First grade screening and putting all the binders together. I couldn't have done it without each of you.
Certified staff-please remember to create your page for our Wall of Fame board in Room 25. Thank you to those of you that have already created your page. They look amazing!
Adams Days this week- M/W/F
PBIS Presentation- this has some really cool videos of ADAMS students following the TIGER Matrix- please share with students as you wish for their review.
Have a RELAXING & RESTING weekend!
Hello everyone! It's that time of year again when we spend a lot of our time helping the students remember how to have a positive school day. Logan will be out another week so right now I am mostly responding to urgent situations. We have a lot of great things planned this year to help the students grow. Since we are not helping with technology this year, I made a document explaining the differences between what Chris from Ed Tech can help with and what Jesse from IT can help with. Please take a look, it also has the link for work orders. Thanks so much.
We have a photocircle 📸 for 21-22 Here is the link: https://join.photocircleapp.com/BKK7J4260Y

This week Martina and I met with our new partners from The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Chandler. They are extremely excited to support Adams! They have graciously donated $100 worth of bottled water and that is just a start! Please let Martina know if you need some:) Also, they would love to help support classrooms by fulfilling some Amazon wish lists - If you could please enter items into this google sheet as a grade level - they will see what they can do for your team!
Reflecting about learning is an essential way to cement the learning for the day! The AVID focus for the month of August is DLIQ - which is a great way to organize those reflections- it is also a wonderful way to assess your students' learning at the end of the lesson!
AND Scholarly Language is something that students need practice using! People sometimes post the pages to the right in students' journals, binders, or on the wall to help students with using scholarly language!
I want to give a huge appreciation to Deborah Kovaleski - she has been running around like she's on 12 shots of espresso☕🏃🏻♀️ - she has been everywhere helping everyone without complaint! She truly has been acting as 2.5 people the last couple of weeks! but thank goodness Logan is back! THANK YOU DEB!!!🥰
PLEASE make sure you insert your why on the page within these google slides. We will be printing these out in color for you and laminating them so we can put them on your doors with magnets. I'm so excited to read them as we walk through your door. 🚪
