Listen to the story 'Beautiful Oops!' by Barney Saltzberg.
This book helps us think about “mistakes” as beautiful opportunities to try something new.
Adult help needed.
4 large tortillas
1 cup hummus
1 red capsicum, sliced thinly
2 carrots, grated or matchsticks
1 yellow capsicum, sliced thinly
1/2 cup baby spinach leaves
1/2 cup purple cabbage, sliced thinly or shredded
You can use any colourful veggies you would like.
Spread about ÂĽ cup hummus over each tortilla. Leave room on the edge.
Arrange the veggies on the hummus covered tortillas (in the order of the rainbow).
Roll up each tortilla tightly.
Cut crosswise into pinwheels and serve.
Daisies from the garden
Pick daisies from your garden leaving some of the stem attached. You can use other types of flowers too (make sure you ask your parents before picking flowers).
Use your fingernail to make a tiny slit in the steam about half way down.
Thread the stem of the next daisy through the slit and then make a new slit in that stem.
Repeat the process until your daisy chain is long enough. If you want to make a necklace you can complete the circle by threading the first flower head through the last stem.
Watch this video for a demonstration on how to make a daisy chain...
