This week we are learning how to sing songs about animals in Japanese.
Steps:
Watch the videos below to learn the four animal names in Japanese.
2. Take a video of you singing along with your favorite video.
(with actions/gestures if possible)
3. Post the video of your singing on Seesaw.
Your task: To create a shadow face and fancy hair using natural materials
What you will need:
Cardboard, textas, garden plants, small garden rock/leaves etc.
Shadow Faces
Step 1. Choose a sunny day to complete this task. The ideal time is when the sun isn’t directly overhead - depending on the sun’s location and time of day, the shadows may be bigger or smaller, so you might find it interesting to experiment with the time of day.
Step 2. Gather some leaves, sticks, petals, grass or any other nature items that you can find. You will use these items to make hair, mouth, eyes. Alternatively collect some small flat rocks and using either paints or textas draw a facial feature on each rock.
Step 3. Create your shadow art! One person will need to cast the shadow and another person can then add features to the shadow using the painted rocks and the nature items. Try positioning your bodies in different ways and seeing what our shadows look like. Adults should definitely join in too!
Fancy Hair
1. On a piece of cardboard (cereal box, delivery box) draw a face trying to place facial features in the correct position. Don’t draw any hair on your face! Make sure it is drawn at least as big as your hand. Cut out your face.
2. Take a walk outside and look for plants that could be hair for your face. Take a photo of your favourite hair styles and submit a collage of your favourites to Seesaw.
