On April 21st, 2025, Pope Francis passed away in his home located within the Vatican City. At the age of 88, Francis has been the Pope of the Catholic church for 12 years and is remembered as a protector of peace and marginalized personages. As the first Pope from Latin America, Francis left his mark on the world in a multitude of ways. He came to be known as the “People's Pope”, as he was often seen in friendly conversation with the people of his church and the world. He was a strong advocate for peace, human rights, and more inclusion within the Catholic Church. His passing has left many in mourning while reflecting on his life and accomplishments.
