Unit 6: Introduction to the Building Trades

Introduction to the building trades gives students exposure to five of the most common trades found in residential and commercial construction. Each of the lessons is designed to give students a solid understanding of job responsibilities an individual working in the area would normally complete. Along with painting a picture of the profession, the unit allows students to participate in engaging hands on activities commonly completed in the field.

Anticipated Unit Length Based on a 45 Minute Class Period: 8 Weeks
