Unit 23: Decks, Porches, and Fences (1 Week)

In this unit students should be able to describe the construction and kinds of materials used in the construction of a deck. Students should be able to layout footings for decks and porches. Students should be able to install posts, girders, and joists. Students should be able to install flooring, stairs, and railings. Students should be able to describe the elements of a fence, and be able to install a straight and sturdy fence.
