Standard 1.1 Student should be able to explain the role of an employee in the construction industry.
Standard 2.7 Student should be able to use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively.
Standard 1.9 Student should be able to use time efficiently to manage workload.
Day 1: Show the Mike Rowe Skills Gap Video. Present the building trades and apprenticeship presentation. Introduce the building trades project and the different skills trades within the building trades. Go to the computer lab and begin the skilled trades research presentation.
Day 2: Show the second skilled trades video. Present over apprenticeships and the different skill levels with in the building trades. Discuss the different levels of skill within the career. Students have the rest of the class period to research and create a presentation for the trade they are interested in. Distribute locks, tool belts, and hand tools in the shop. Discuss how to wear the belt and wear to position the tools.
Day 3: Students give their trade presentations to the class
