Unit 32: Electrical Safety and Installation (1 Weeks)
In this unit students should be able to describe the basics in electrical safety and the installation of wiring, plugs, switches, and electrical panels.
Standard 13.1 Student will be able to recognize safe working practices in the construction environment. Standard 13.2 Student will be able to explain the purpose of OSHA and how it promotes safety on the job. Standard 14.2 Student will be able to explain the grounding requirements of a residential electric service.Standard 14.4 Student will be able to select the proper wiring methods for various types of residences.Standard 14.7 Student will be able to explain the purpose of ground fault circuit interrupters and tell where they must be installed.Standard 14.8 Student will be able to size outlet boxes and select the proper type for different wiring methods.Standard 14.12 Student will be able to describe the installation and control of lighting fixtures.
