Project Background
"We only have one planet, and we have to take care of it".
Our Year 12 VCE Vocational Major students embarked on a new unit to Measure their Impact, whereby they researched various issues that face our planet and threaten our Biodiversity. our project might be small but it's a start that could kick off a mass change in world biodeversity.
to begin our unit, Year 12 students visited the Melbourne Zoo, to gather information on sustainability practices, and the native biodiversity in the Bunurong lands on which our school exists we learned a lot about how crucial biodiversity is and what ways we can incorporate them into our daily lives we based our project on the Herb boxes we decided to do this because we want to promote the idea of sustainable gardening even at school
As a group, we worked hard to calculate our school's biodiversity score, using the Resource Smart Schools Biodiversity Audit Tool, the school result was 78/100.
With this number we chose projects that would increase our school's biodiversity score and make a positive impact on our environment and our land.
