"Embark on a mission to create a Bug Hotel with us, a project that goes beyond its charming exterior. As we meticulously design and build this miniature sanctuary, we're contributing to a vital cause for our environment. Bug hotels provide essential refuge for pollinators, beneficial insects, and other creatures that play a vital role in maintaining our ecosystem's balance. By crafting this biodiverse haven, we're fostering biodiversity, supporting plant growth, and ultimately safeguarding the intricate web of life that sustains our world. Join hands with us in constructing not just a Bug Hotel, but a future teeming with life and ecological harmony."
Mel - By removing litter and debris, we preserve the natural beauty of the environment, protect wildlife, and prevent potential hazards.
Isobel - This act of cleaning up helps with the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy outdoor space for both our own enjoyment and the benefit of our school.
Lilly - We started building the bug hotel by measuring the wood carefully for even sizes. Then, we cut the wood and worked hard to smooth out the surfaces through diligent sanding.
Izzy - We constructed the bug hotels with measurements of the wood to ensure uniform dimensions. Subsequently, the wood was cut, and considerable effort was dedicated to meticulously sanding the surfaces until they were flawlessly smooth.
Mel - We marked and ruled down what measurements needed to be cut and sanded.
We all took turns at doing different tasks and worked efficiently.
Izzy - We have half of 1 done already and by using a drill its sped up our time helping us go further.
Lilly - we continued the building of the bug hotel by painting and using a drill to make holes for the top of the structure.
Mel - We started drilling in holes for the bug hotel, we will have have one of our hotels done by next week.
Mel - We have nearly finished building one of our bug hotels, now we need to add scrap pieces of wood and sticks to the centre.
