MEASURING OUR IMPACT
VCE VOCATIONAL MAJOR - PDS
TERM 3, 2022
We have decided to make bat boxes to create a safe environment for bats to roost in at our school. By providing a home for native wildlife, we will be increasing McClelland's biodiversity score by one point. Because bats are also very important to maintaining healthy ecosystems they can benefit us by eating harmful insects and pollinating our plants.
I found some spare pieces of wood in the VCAFE and knew that was the same type of (oak)wood used for micro bat bat boxes I cut and shaved the good down to the right size and nailed each corner down to each other making sure it stays secure and got a bit of cork with a black top to finish the roof and be a spot for the bats to cling on to and for bugs to hide to feed the batsÂ
