We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather, thus Bunurong People and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. I extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who visit here today.
We only have one planet, and we have to take care of it.
Our Year 12 VCE Vocational Major students embarked on a new unit to Measure their Impact, whereby they needed to research issues facing our planet and threatening our Biodiversity.
To begin our unit, the Year 12s visited two locations to gather information on sustainability practices, and the native biodiversity in the Bunurong lands on which our school exists. This was accomplished by visiting Melbourne Zoo and the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens.
As a group we worked hard to calculate our school's biodiversity score and we ended up with a 77/100 using the Resource Smart Schools Biodiversity Audit Tool.
With this number we chose projects that would increase our school's biodiversity score and make a positive impact on our environment and our land.
Venture through our Year 12 projects to see the impact and contributions they have made to our school. Navigate through our website to discover more about our students group projects and how we have shared our knowledge with our community.Â
