Deforestation causes extinction and soil erosion that decreases our biodiversity.
Deforestation needs to be put to a stop.
Have you ever thought about how important forests are in life? Well I do and you should as well the trees in your surrounding seem unimportant to you? Am I right? But as you live your daily life, acknowledging them only as the scenery and background in your life. But if you think about it, trees are everywhere in our environment and everyday life. Your furniture, paper you write on and what you use, even the fruit you eat, even the air you breathe comes from trees, did you know we even get our oxygen from these trees which helps us live our everyday life. We as consumers rely heavily on trees and forests as resources, in fact like palm tree oil farms and how its destroyed rich green rainforests all around the world. Palm tree oil farms are expanding more rapidly than any other agriculture material, but remember forests are shrinking instead of growing, all because of deforestation.
Deforestation is an important issue. It is a problem that stands from our miss use of resources. According to google an estimated amount of 6 million hectares of forests are lost every year because of deforestation. And what do we do all this for? Benefits to companies, industries, governments and of course for money. People see deforestation as a beneficial action, as they are gaining resources and clearing land for usage, but what people don’t understand is that cutting these trees affects us more than we believe. All deforestation does is damage, whether it to be people or wildlife, cutting down forests harms more than it helps. So many beautiful animals go extinct for what reason? We are the reason why these animals lose their homes and even their lives. Imagine if this was happening to you or your family.
By clearing forests, we are causing the decline of wildlife. We destroy habitats and increase the vulnerability of animals which causes death, this is threatening Earth’s biodiversity.
About 80% of the world’s documented species live in tropical rainforests. When we cut down these beautiful rainforests our biodiversity decreases and when we cut down these forests, we threaten animals and harm their homes. Water cycles are disrupted as trees can’t evaporate groundwater, which causes the surrounding climate to become much drier. Soil erosion is accelerated because trees are no longer there to protect and keep the soil in place. Generally speaking, through deforestation, we are disrupting and harming wildlife and all spices on earth, which isn’t good for our environment therefore our world. We NEED TO PUT A STOP TO THIS!
