Biodiversity to day I will convince you to help stop people from crossing the boarder line into are water to do whaling
Some of the reasons we should stop whaling.
Explaining what whaling is
Whaling is the hunting of whales for their usable products such as meat and blubber, which can be turned into a type of oil that was important in the Industrial Revolution. It was practiced as an organized industry as early as 875 AD.
Whales are at the top of the food chain and have an important role in the overall health of the marine environment. Whales play a significant role in capturing carbon from the atmosphere; each great whale sequesters an estimated 33 tons of CO2 on average, thus playing their part in the fight against climate change.
Without a population of whales, the krill on which they feed would multiply exponentially; in turn, krill will deplete the populations of phytoplankton and algae on which they feed, causing an imbalance in the marine ecosystem. Whales also play a role in carbon capture and help regulate the planet's climate.
Why I thing it is important to stop whaling
cetaceans are mainly hunted and killed today for food in both commercial (for profit) whaling operations and by indigenous. And we don’t even need to hunt whales considering we have lots of other way to collect food
They are an Endangered Species. As a result, some of them are near extinction. Until the turn of the century, whales have been pursued for its meat and that's why most of the large whales have been nearly extinct as a result. It was only in this decade that populations have begun to recover.
It is also very bad for the environment; Whaling could have more impact on populations than sheer numbers. A pod of beaked whales rest in the warm waters of the equator. 4) Whales are necessary for healthy oceans, mixing, distributing nutrients and helping deal with the impacts of climate change. 5) Whales are full of persistent toxins, like mercury and PCBs.
Who hunts whale. And why they do so.
· Whale hunter hunt whales, mostly Japan. They do it for the food and for the scientific reasons and human consumption
· The Japanese hunt the whales for no reason they say there reason is for sport we all know that but we just agree and that is unacceptable
