Voting can be a difficult process to follow. Here’s a quick and easy step-by-step guide on how to vote in the next election.

You can use this service to: get on the electoral register so you can vote in elections or referendums; update your name, address or nationality by registering again with your new details; and get on or off the open register.

From 4 May 2023, voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections. From October 2023 it will also apply to UK General elections. Voting is very important so if you don't have access to ID, please make sure you get a free Voter Authority Certificate. 

Use this form to apply to vote by post. You'll need to send the completed form to your local Electoral Registration Office.

Everybody with a learning disability and/or autism has the legal right to vote in local and general elections and should be supported to be able to do so.
