Stalking

UNDERSTANDING STALKING

Stalking can be defined as persistent and unwanted attention that makes you feel pestered and harassed. It includes behaviour that happens two or more times, directed at or towards you by another person, which causes you to feel alarmed or distressed or to fear violence might be used against you. SUPPORT AND ADVICE

If you need urgent help, call 999.

The National Stalking Helpline can provide advice on how to deal with any type of stalking behaviour. This includes advice on how to report the behaviour to the police, and what you can expect if you report something. You can visit their website or call 0808 802 0300 between 9.30am-4pm every day apart from Wednesday, when the line is open 9.30am-8pm.

Contact the police if you’re being stalked - you have a right to feel safe in your home and workplace. Stalking is illegal and can include being followed or constantly harassed by another person - for example being sent unwanted emails.

Protection Against Stalking is a national charity working within communities to raise public awareness about stalking and support victims of stalking through providing specialist support services.

The Paladin Service provides support to high-risk victims of stalking. If you need help, you can contact them here.
