GENERAL INFORMATION

The Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) are the national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity. They have a huge amount of experience and expertise in providing support online, including through their digital mentoring service, Inter-AKT.

LOCAL SUPPORT

If you live in Leeds and are homeless or at risk of homelessness, the council will be able to help you. You can call 0113 222 4412 to speak to someone. 

If you live in Bradford and are experiencing problems relating to housing, you can contact the council for free and confidential support. You can call 01274 435 999 to speak to someone. 

If you live in Bradford and are rough sleeping or sofa surfing, and are between ages 18-65, you can be referred to the Bradford Re-Start Project. They offer flats and bedsits around Manningham, Bradford which can be taken up if you agree to a high level of support. Referrals can be made by calling 01274 480 120

If you live in Wakefield and are experiencing problems relating to housing, you can contact the council for free and confidential support. You can call 01924 304 360 to speak to someone. 

If you live in Huddersfield or Kirklees and are at risk of immediate homelessness, you can contact the Housing Solutions team for help. You can call 01484 221 350 to speak to someone. 

If you live in Harrogate and need housing options and homelessness advice, you can contact Harrogate Housing Options for support. You can call 01423 500 600 (ext 51605) to speak to someone. 

An independent charity in West Yorkshire helping the homeless and vulnerable, Simon on the Streets delivers outreach on the streets to the homeless community and those that are most vulnerable in Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees.
