This term Sparta class have Horticulture for the whole class. They were out in the garden digging and weeding, readying the soil for planting.
We also had a lady come in and made lanterns with the whole phase. They will be used during the festival of lights in Dartford. It was a very sticky activity, but the end result was beautiful.

The week ended with Maria leading an assembly about Remembrance Day. The students were all so respectful and were silent for two minutes as the Last Post played, then we had a lovely time singing "It is a long way to Tipperary". Overall it has been a good first week.
So this week has been another fun packed week of learning in Sparta class. The students listen and watched intently as we watch an Assembly for Rememberance day. Prince William spoke twice and there were people who had served talking about their experiences. There was a school that did art for the assembly. It was very well thought out and the students were transfixed. You could hear a pin drop during the 2 minute silence, the staff are very proud of our students in Sparta.
On Thursday we joined a webinar for the Michael Rosen day. The students listened as Michael Rosen read some of his books, mainly poems. They seemed to really enjoy the experience. Later that day they tried their hands at writing poems, it was very amusing and they wrote some good poems.
