Sparta Class
Sparta class have investigated technology through time, by looking at means of communication, they started by creating a timeline and completing some research about certain items. We spelled Milestone using the system of Semaphore flags.
The Spartans loved learning about sending messages using the microbits. they learned to send two part messages with music.
Time to get creative. Spartans created a plan for an invention that would help messages be sent through the school. They designed, labelled and then made their creations.
Aztec Class explored different ways music has been played and how this has changed through time. We started off back in the 1800s where we used gramophones all the way until today where we use Bluetooth and wireless speakers. We were lucky enough to have a record player to listen to vinyls, which the students thoroughly enjoyed dancing to. We looked at cassettes and CD's, comparing the different devices.
We then designed our own devices, thinking carefully about the size, the cost, how it is carried around and how it works. The students designed and made their own devices out of salt dough, measuring out all the ingredients as a team and moulding the dough to make their own models.
Sparta, Renaissance and Vikings joined together for Kahoot quiz about this term's learning.
We then showed appreciation for each others' work in the Great Exhibition of Phase 3.
Viking Class showed off their learning all about Transport .
Tudor class made rockets.
Jurassic class created a new interactive robotic toy.
Renaissance class made animations
They also provided interesting information about technology and AI.
Renaissance made stories using AI.
Sparta class invented technology to send messages around the school, ideas ranged from UFO's with talking chickens, to remote controlled Ernie who delivers snacks. There was a pug that dispensed messages when you pressed its nose.
We had a special guest in Sarah Goosani visit our exhibition, students proudly shared their inventions and Sean also discussed his learning and how he made his model.
