Much Ado About Nothing
Rehearsals are progressing with great energy and commitment. Students are continuing to learn their signing, choreography, and dialogue, showing growing confidence each session. Five out of the ten scenes have now been fully set, giving the performance a strong structure as we move into the next phase of rehearsal.
Our Student Director has taken a keen and proactive role in supporting the rehearsal process, demonstrating impressive leadership and communicator qualities. Their guidance has helped the cast refine timing, characterisation, and stage movement.
Across the group, students are:
Acting as Risk-Takers, stepping outside their comfort zones to perform Shakespearean language and movement.
Showing themselves to be Principled, consistently rehearsing with focus, respect, and commitment.
Displaying the qualities of Balanced learners, managing signing, choreography, and script work with increasing skill.
Demonstrating the Caring attribute by supporting peers, offering encouragement, and collaborating effectively during scene work.
The cast is showing real dedication, and the production is shaping up with creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

PSPD
We explored the concept of values and how they guide our choices and actions. A value is something that is important to us and shapes the way we behave and interact with others. We reflected on our own values, choosing three that feel most important to us, and wrote about why they matter. We also shared examples of when we practiced these values, helping us understand ourselves better and think about the kind of people we want to be.
Inquiry
We explored the impact of new technology on fighting during World War I, examining how innovations such as tanks, machine guns, and chemical weapons changed the nature of warfare. As part of this learning, students worked in groups to create Google Slides presentations, showcasing their research and understanding of the topic. This allowed them to engage creatively with the material while developing digital skills and collaborating effectively.
Remembrance Service at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy
On 11th of November 2025, we attended the Remembrance Service at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, to which we had been kindly invited. It was a meaningful opportunity to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed in times of conflict. One of our students in Anning Class proudly joined Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy in laying the wreath during the ceremony. Our students were very respectful throughout the service, showing great maturity and empathy during this important occasion. As an IB school, we demonstrated our international mindedness by reflecting on the importance of peace, respect, and unity across all nations, recognising that remembrance is a shared value that connects communities around the world.
Module 1
Community Participation
We went to Dartford by public transport for our Participation Day. We began by exploring Holy Trinity Church, where we learned about why people go to church and its importance in the community. Afterwards, we visited a charity shop to donate some items and discussed the value of being caring and the important role that volunteers play. Next, we went to the library, where we read some books and played games together. We also explored Dartford Museum before finishing the day at Dartford Central Park, where our students had some free time to interact with their peers while getting some exercise. It was a great day!
After our visit, we wrote about our experiences visiting different places in our community, reflecting on what we had learned and enjoyed.
Exploring Our Community in Dartford
Ahead of our Community Participation Day, we researched the places we will visit in Dartford. We found out information about Holy Trinity Church, the library, the museum, and Dartford Central Park. We then created Google Slides presentations to share what we learned.
Yayoi Kusama
We researched the artist Yayoi Kusama and learned about her unique style, especially her use of dots. Inspired by her work, we created our own paintings using lots of colourful dots!
Maths
In maths, we’ve been building on our understanding of place value. The students have been using their number skills to solve problems and explain their thinking, showing increasing confidence with larger numbers.
Visit to the Kent Police Museum
Our class recently enjoyed an exciting and educational trip to the Kent Police Museum. Students thoroughly enjoyed this interactive experience, where they learned about the history of the police and the vital role they play in keeping our communities safe. Highlights of the visit included trying on real police uniforms, sitting on a police motorbike, and exploring a range of equipment such as handcuffs, batons, and radios. After the museum visit, we headed to the beautiful Faversham Recreation Ground for a relaxing picnic. The day ended with some well-earned free time, where students had fun playing and exploring the playground. Everyone had a great time, combining hands-on learning with plenty of fun and unforgettable moments.
European Day Of Languages
On Friday, 26th September 2025, Anning Class proudly celebrated the European Day of Languages with the theme, ‘Languages open hearts and minds’. This special day highlighted how languages have the power to connect us, inspire new ideas, and broaden our horizons.
As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, we recognise the importance of celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity. Embracing multiple languages is central to nurturing globally minded learners who are open, curious, and compassionate.
Our pupils enjoyed a range of fun, inclusive, and accessible activities designed to engage all students through visual, sensory, and interactive experiences. This ensured everyone could take part and appreciate the richness of languages and cultures.
The celebration was a wonderful reminder of how languages open doors to understanding and unity within our community.
Literacy and Communication
We read the wonderful book The Name Jar by Yangsook Choi, and the children really enjoyed the story! Before we began reading, we made some thoughtful predictions about what the book might be about, based on the title and cover illustration. As we read, the class was engaged and curious, and we had some great discussions about names, identity, and kindness. It was a meaningful story that helped us reflect on the importance of respecting and celebrating each other's uniqueness.
