Module 1
Transdisciplinary Theme: Who we are
Central Idea: Everyone is unique, and each person has had different experiences.
Lines of Inquiry:
How can we keep our bodies healthy?
How can we keep our minds healthy?
What do our senses help us to do?
How has history influenced our lives?
What makes me unique?
How can I express myself?
Jurassic class were tending vegetables that keep our bodies healthy.
Jurassic class made an egg mayo sandwich. We used our senses to share whether we liked it or disliked it!
Module 2
Transdisciplinary Theme: How We Express Ourselves
Central Idea: Different Cultures Have Enriched Our Lives
Lines of Inquiry:
Cultures change through human interaction and migration.
Knowledge about the world helps us to be respectful
Similarities and differences between cultures and their celebrations
Jurassic students can be seen trialling boxing sessions, taking part in maths activities, using junk modelling to make our class Christmas tree and also learning functional day to day skills.

An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human society;how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.

Religion, government and charities help all people to have equal opportunities
Key Concepts
Change - We understand that - process - one state to another - change affects everything
Causation - We understand that things don’t just happen. Actions have consequences and relationships are at work.
Responsible - We understand that we can make choices based on what we know and understand, as well as what we believe. We can say which ideas are important to us, and we can take actions that make a difference.
Connection - We understand that everything in the world is linked and the actions of one thing affects many more??
Learner Profile attributes
Thinker - We learn to solve problems in our daily lives with increasing independence and recognise cause and effect within our actions.
Inquirer - We show an interest in the world around us through our actions or our words.
Risk Taker. - We experience new things and make choices that might lead to new experiences. We become more confident in less familiar contexts.
Jurassic Class compared foods that would have been eaten by Ug during the Stone Age with foods that were rationed during WW2. The fake animal blood was very interesting!
We compared Ug's toys to the toys we play with today. We also thought about how we could help Ug, how could we make his boat float and not sink? How could we make his stone football smoother?

An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organisations; societal decision- making; economic activities and their impact on humankind and the environment.

A leader’s decision affects people around them.
Individual choices matter.

Responsibility Why is it important to do that? People make choices based on their understanding and the actions they take as a result do make a difference

This week, Jurassic class have harvested rhubarb from the garden. We have practised our chopping skills and sorted the chopped rhubarb into equal groups for other classes to use. Next we made rhubarb crumble!
A small group of us have also been for a walk into New Ash Green to buy clas snacks, enjoying the sunshine!
Jurassic class have been enjoying the sunshine and using our outside area for lessons. We have enjoyed Maths - having races and practising our ordinal numbers, Horticulture - planting seeds and weeding the raised beds, PE and Art - water painting outside in the playground.

This week we have looked at our book 'Martha Maps It Out' and we have used the story and pictures for different activities such as colourful semantics and to make a character profile of Martha the main character.
We have also enjoyed swimming lessons at the local pool!
Jurassic class have enjoyed exploring being a leader through a variety of activities. Some students have led cooking activities, craft activities or choosing what maths games to play on the interactive whiteboard.
Last week, Phase 3 enjoyed Activity Week. Jurassic class researched how toys have changed over the years. We looked at what toys were made of and found similar materials within the classroom environment.
Jurassic class made their own toy robot using junk modelling, it was great fun!
