Tegan used counters to help her complete division number sentences involving 2, 5 and 10 .
Chan is using his multiplication facts to help him to calculate division sums using the bus stop method alongside formal methods.
Students are continuing to develop their multiplication skills, Sabriella confidently use the numicon to calculate multiplication facts, Sabriella used her knowledge of the communicative rule to count 3 lots of 7 rather than 7 lots of 3. Harry was getting to grips with the lattice method to support calculations of 2 digit multplications.
During our inquiry learning, Sparta class investigated different Buddhist artefacts, they used their investigative skills to communicate their predictions about the type of item, purpose and material it was made from.
Sparta Class have begun their Art sessions; learning about Pop art and the techniques of Keith Haring . They have worked collaboratively to create a piece of art work in this style.
Students have been learning different strategies to support their multiplication fact calculations, some have instant recall of the facts. Yuvraj has used his knowledge to work out bigger calculations.
During our Inquiry Lesson, we discussed the new Transdisciplinary Theme, Central Idea and Lines of Inquiry. We also looked at the Curriculum coverage required and the students then provided some thought provoking questions for us to answer during our learning.

Sparta class have been busy out in the community singing and signing in two venues:
The Memory Clinic at New Ash Green Village Hall
Kent Wood House Residential Home,
Bringing happiness and cheer to the members and residents.
Sparta class have been working hard and developing their fine motor skills whilst making our products for the Christmas market.
Students have been working hard learning the values of different coins and using different coins to make the correct amounts.
Students have each used their digital skills to produce information about the Rochester Christmas Market. They learned how to put wall paper on the slide show and embed pictures from the education trip to demonstrate what ideas could be used for the phase 3 Christmas market in two weeks time.
During our English lessons, students have been learning about the Assassination of JFK, and worked really hard to think of questions to investigate the the Assassin, Lee Osward and provide realistic replies. Here is the interview presented on Adobe express.
Students researched different advertising posters, then identified what key information was needed as well as what made the posters appealing. Here are some examples.
As part of our Inquiry learning, we visited Rochester Christmas Market to research how to advertise the phase 3 market, decorate our stalls and price our items to ensure, we have our own successful market.
Our learning journey is now moving towards our career's enterprise project, keep visiting to keep updated!
Students have learned about America in the 20thC focusing on popular culture. They have learned about the fashions through the decade, where textiles come from and the manufacturing process. Sparta class have learned how fashion has impacted other countries both positively and negatively. Even one of the mentor dogs got in on the action, as he joined us to the trip to the shops to buy the ingredients. Both included puff pastry, but the first recipe included; feta cheese and plum chutney , whereas the second, included; ham and grated cheddar cheese, which was much more appealing to our students palate. These will be recreated and sold at our Christmas Market on the 18th December.
As part of our SPAG learning, we have been using compound words to support spelling and using these to make our own sentences.
Money
Students in Sparta Class have enjoyed investigating finding the same amount using different coins. They all did well on the extra challenge of then splitting this up to provide change.
Sparta Class have been learning about homophones, identifying different examples and then putting them in to sentences. We have also learned how to use commas in lists.
Inquiry Learning
Students researched Native America recipes and made these two Cherokee style foods. Kyle had a try of these and commented 'They both have an interesting texture!'
Maths
For our maths money recall, we have been using coins for investigating the values of different coins, adding combinations to make a coin, adding different coins together to record in both p and decimal notation
Inquiry Learning /Literacy Communication
Students have been investigating the life of First Americans at the beginning of the 20th Century and identified how Movies had caused stereotyping , which in turn led to inequalities and negative treatment.
