Saxons have been learning about different traditions & celebrations from around the world and have experienced this through a variety of cooking & craft based activities, as well as through our sensory story this module of 'These are a few of our favourite foods'. The whole class, pupils and staff, have loved experiencing new & different smells, flavours and textures of foods from around the world and this was a great opportunity for Saxon pupils to indicate their likes & dislikes using their phrases, symbols & indivudual communication systems.
Saxons have been visiting the school Library weekly, where they independently choose a story to share with an adult and we also enjoy sharing a sensory story as a group too! π
Saxons have been developing their fine motor & gross motor skills through completing different tasks and activities including cooking, washing u, drying up, PE lessons and also joining in with yoga videos in class! All pupils have been working on their receptive skills and following key instructions. Great job Saxons! π§
In Science lessons with Lisa, we have been learning about light & dark and looking at shadows. We have used torches and different stencils & images to make our own shadows and we had great fun trying to make shadow puppets using our hands ποΈ
Towards the end of module 2, as the festive season is upon us, Saxons have been making, tasting & enjoying festive treats and completing Christmas themed activities including making Christmas cards, reindeer food, edible peppermint & vanilla scented playdough, woven Christmas trees and peppermint cream sweets....we have been busy!!! ππ§βπβοΈ
