Transdisciplinary Theme: Who we are
Central Idea: Our different experiences make us unique and special.
Lines of Inquiry:
What do our senses tell us about the world?
How can our senses help us to explore produce from the local area?
How have different cultures helped to shape what we think and what we believe?
Saxon Class have had a busy start to the academic year this module, filled with fun new experiences which have been enjoyed by the whole class.
We have been exploring our central idea of ‘Who We Are’ and learning about our senses through taste, touch, smell, sight, hearing and our vestibular & proprioceptive senses; which help us with balance and how we move.
Saxon Class have continued to enjoy visiting the supermarket weekly to buy the Phase 3 Tuck shop items. We always make sure to follow our list of what is needed and then choose a favoured snack and exchange money for our items.
Saxons have all been working on the key learner attribute of ‘communicator’ this term; where they have been expressing favoured motivating items/activities to support their self-regulation during movement break times and to help them make independent choices across the school day.
We all had a great time during our inquiry day, where we experienced foods & a variety of activities based around different countries from around the world. All of the Saxons did extremely well transitioning & visiting other classes across the phase 🙂
