Saxon Class have enjoyed a variety of different experiences & activities during module 6 as part of our transdisciplinary theme of Sharing the planet. During our sensory story of ‘We’re Roaming in the Rainforest’, students have explored different movements, sounds, textures, smells & tastes. They have also continued to follow key directions, develop their fine motor skills and engage with making a variety of cooking & craft based activities.
The arrival of the Phase 3 Tuck shop has been a hit with Saxons and they have enjoyed visiting Maria weekly to see what is on offer at the ‘shop’, choose a favoured snack and exchange money for their wanted item.
Our Sport’s Day was full of fun and all of the students showed great listening & attention skills to join in with a huge variety of activities. Archery & the ball pool were firm favourites and many smiles & memories were made across the day.
Saxons have continued to work on the key learner attributes of ‘risk-taker’ this term. Saxon Class students have been increasing their communication & interactions with each other through turn taking games in class and fun activities on the playground, such as ball games, chase games & taking turns on the swing & trim trail. The students have been increasingly taking risks in trying out new activities and tasks which are more unfamiliar to them and myself & the Saxon team are very proud of all the students!
Well done for all you have achieved this year Saxon’s, I hope you and your families have a wonderful summer holiday and we look forward to seeing you in the new academic year 🙂
