Networking 1 is the SECOND year course in the Networking program of study designed to introduce students to foundational elements within the networking field, including network concepts, network apparatuses and tools, network topographies and types, network services and network addressing. Students will also troubleshoot networking issues.
Upon completion of the course, a proficient student will be able to explain networking concepts and the various components that comprise computer networks. A proficient student will also be able to explain and demonstrate network devices and connections, including routing, switching, and cabling, and demonstrate basic troubleshooting skills reflective of the knowledge and skills learned in the course.
Prerequisites: Foundations of Computer Systems & Technology (TIF1000)
