Role of the Educator - SLT update

On May 3rd the ISP Strategic Interest & Review Teams met to provide feedback and suggest additional steps forward on the strategic projects above.

April 2021
Goal 1 - The Secondary School middle leadership have teased out implications for educators of each of the strands in the definition of High Quality Learning.
Goal 4 - The LCD has created a space on the Staff Internet where videos of different staff competencies can be displayed and accessed by staff members.
Goal 5 - The entretiens professionnels are now linked into the staff appraisal cycle, and finish this cycle off.
March 2021
Goal 1 - Following the Board's approval of the definition of High Quality Learning, we have begun discussions about how this will inform our understanding of how we define the educator at ISP.
Goal 2 - SLT, PLT and SSLT have all begun to use Mentimeter to analyse leadership strengths in each team using the IB Leadership Capabilities model.
Goal 4 - We have started to grow our library of staff competencies with different members of staff offering expertise and training to others.
Goal 6 - The Secondary Principal and Assistant Principal have begun discussions on how to include High Quality Learning and other elements more explicitly into our Appraisal documentation and processes.
February 2021

On January 20th the ISP Strategic Interest & Review Teams met to provide feedback and suggest additional steps forward on the strategic projects above.

December 2020
Goal 2 - The SLT has looked at different leadership capacity models, and have shared these with the SSLT & PLT. The consensus is that we will use the IB model and this will be trialled with one or more teams and/or projects in the new year.
Goal 3 - The secondary school vice principal of organisation for learning has begun to contact different schools to understand how they use their time and learn from their ideas.
Goal 5 - All pedagogical staff have been involved in professional development in the area of differentiation.
IMPORTANT
November - Due to additional expectations with COVID-19 protocols / Lockdown 2 and Home / Online Learning requirements some strategic projects have now been 'paused'.
Project 1. - This project will be modified / simplified as an observation schedule is not possible due to COVID and PLCs will not focus on this topic.
Project 3. - Only the internal research with the SSLT will be conducted this school year.
Project 6. - Paused and on hold for this school year.
October 2020
Goal 2 - The long-existing ISP Leader Profile was reintroduced and put it forward to the SLT for discussion. Similar documents from the CIS and the IB were also considered.
Goal 3 - The Head of School spoke to the MLT about the project, and has asked for volunteers to take part in the research. Secondary Principal met with the MYP Coordinator to consider the implications of any changes on student access to eAssessments etc.
Goal 5 - Whole school worked on differentiation and unit planning with EAL, Learning Support, as well as International Education Specialist, Dr Fran Prolman.
Goal 6 - MLT in secondary had a good discussion about appraisal, and about how it can be made clearer. First round is now running. IP will be held with principal and assistant principal this year for everyone.
September 2020
Goal 1 - The Secondary Principal and Assistant Principal have begun to put together the observation and appraisal schedule and timeline for the first round of appraisals for the year. They have looked over the information sent through from HR and are looking to make sure data correlates.
Goal 2 - We have taken information from the different job descriptions and extracted the statements that link to leadership. The SSLT will be looking at this in the last week of September in order to begin the task of creating a Leader Profile.
Goal 3 - The Head of School has introduced the project to SSLT and gone over the next steps. This will be rolled out to MLT in secondary school in the next week, and the PLC will then be created with volunteer members from different teams.
