May 2021
In May all Board Committees reviewed their goals and development projects for the 2020 / 2021 school year. At the May Board Retreat recommendations were made and new goals established for the 2021 / 2022 school year. These goals were then approved at the May Board meeting.
April 2021
Goal 1 - The Board invited the Advancement and Engagement Director to its Board meeting this month to report on developments and any changes in admissions trends as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goal 1 - The Board continues review the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as it considers the budget for the next academic year.
Goal 3 - The Board has begun its preparation for the May Association General Meeting. The Association has been invited to attend and to suggest agenda items, in accordance with the Association by-laws.
March 2021
Goal 1 - The Board considered proposals stemming from the outcome of the school's lobbying efforts and weighed the impact on the school and school culture.
Goal 3 - The Board informed the community about the process regarding the next Strategic Plan cycle, introducing the consultant Deborah Welch as well as the Strategic Planning Steering Committee.
February 2021
Goal 3 - The Board held an Annual General Meeting this month. The ISP Association adopted the financial resolutions for the 2019-2020 fiscal year, adopted new by-laws, elected one new Board member and reviewed the 2021-2020 tuition fees. The 2021-2022 academic year budget was not presented.
Goal 3 - At the AGM, the Treasurer informed the Association of the reasons for the delay of the budget process (COVID-related impacts) and that an Association General Meeting will be convened in the month of May to validate the budget.
January 2021
In January the Board Committees reviewed the annual goals, project and progress as part of a mid-year review. The following developments and outcomes were recorded.
Goal 1 - The Board is looking at various budget scenarios for the 2021-2022 academic year, as the COVID-19 situation has made budget preparations less predictable.
Goal 2 - The Research Centre has articulated areas which could benefit from financing through the Fonds de Dotation and Advancement Committees although deeper discussion is necessary on this subject.
Goal 3 - The Board is well on course to meeting this goal as it prepares for the Annual General Meeting and the budget processes ahead. Communication has been clear and transparent throughout these preparations.
December 2020
Goal 1 - Three board members participated in a CIS workshop on tackling racism and reported back to the whole Board.
Goal 1 - Board members participated in training sessions on the future of education post-COVID-19 run by the ISC
Goal 3 - The Board continues to share its minutes to the community via the Parent Portal.
Goal 3 - The Board has communicated initial plans for holding a virtual Annual General Meeting, including electronic voting, to the entire community.
November 2020
Goal 1 - The entire Board participated in a training and development session, led by Adele Hodgson, focused on the impact of COVID-19 on education and how schools are adapting to changes brought about by the pandemic.
Goal 2 - The Research Centre Steering Committee presented a report on its activities and future objectives at the November Board meeting, including areas where it could benefit from funding.
Goal 3 - The Board led a session with the ISP community to inform and educate about proposed changes to the by-laws, to be voted at the upcoming AGM in February.
October 2020
Goal 2 - The Research Centre Steering Committee was invited to update the Board on the activities of the Research Centre at the November meeting.
Goal 3 - Reaching out to the community via the newsletter continues.
September 2020
Goal 2 - An ISP Gives (fonds de dotation) fundraising event aimed at funding research at ISP is planned for November.
Goal 2 - The Chair of the Fundraising and Development Committee participated in a meeting of the Research Steering Committee to learn more about research at ISP.
Goal 3 - The Board updated the community in newsletters to end August and September about the recruitment of the new Head of School and inviting calls for information on the Board's activities.
