We continue to ensure that our policies, procedures and protocols for safeguarding and child protection follow world best practice and are regularly reviewed to meet changing needs and circumstances. A large part of this year's focus will be on involving all stakeholders in an extensive programme of feedback and review related to well-being and safeguarding issues.
May 2021
To end May a year ending review was held for this strategic area and the goals above. Positively influencing and negatively hindering factors were recorded as well as future recommendations for each goal.

April 2021
Goal 2 - Staff meeting time in plan to share risk assessment system updates with staff.
Goal 4 - VPWB and VPOL met at Primary to create the draft PSE scope and sequence and add it to Managebac. Staff given time to add their learning goals for units of enquiry.
Goal 4 - Formal system for students to contribute ideas for the PSE curriculum has been discussed with key staff in Secondary. This process will be finalised for the end of the academic year.
March 2021
Goal 1 - Child Protection Policy review work is continuing and on schedule to meet the year-end deadline.
Goal 2 - Risk assessments review meeting was held with key staff.
Goal 2 - The IT department has updated the electronic risk assessment form based on feedback and meeting discussions.
January 2021
Goal 2 - The IT Director and Vice Principals of Well-Being and Organisation for Learning met to review the existing Risk Assessment online template.
Goal 2 - The IT Director to redesign template following feedback about the pilot.
Goal 4 - Diploma students have initiated ECA's in line with their own personal interests.
December 2020
Goal 1- VPWBs have been collaborating regularly to review and rewrite the current Child Protection policy.
Goal 1- A timeline has been established for the completion and communication of the CP policy before the end of this academic year.
Goal 3- Staff use of CPOMS demonstrates a greater understanding and improved use of categories.
Goal 5- Ongoing work to make the safeguarding website purposeful and responsive to staff needs.
IMPORTANT
November - Due to additional expectations with COVID-19 protocols / Lockdown 2 and Home / Online Learning requirements some strategic projects have now been 'paused'.
Goal 1- Adapted focus. Only the Child Protection Policy will be completed and communicated this year. Remaining safeguarding policies to be completed in order of priority starting 2021/22.
Goal 3- Pause on strand 3.2 and 3.3 for this school year.
Goal 4- Pause on strands 4.1 and 4.2 for this school year.
Goal 5- Adapted focus in line with goal 1. Accessibility and communication of Child Protection Policy will be prioritised for the academic year 2020/21.
October 2020
Goal 3 - Discussions and research have commenced to support planning and completion of the Behaviour Toolkit.
Goal 3 - Previous work on Behaviour Philosophy has been reviewed.
Goal 5 - Safeguarding system updates and advice have been communicated as part of the October Whole School Meeting.
Goal 5 - Review and edits to the Safeguarding website are in progress.
September 2020
Goal 1 - Gathered Counsellor and SLT feedback on Child Protection policy ahead of meeting HR.
Goal 3 - CPOMS categories have been reviewed including access and permissions. CPOMS Top Tips have been shared whole school to ensure consistency of use.
Goal 3 - Behaviour toolkit created for Primary and shared with PLT and MLT.
Other - Feedback collated and changes made.
Other - New Collaborative Care Conversation document created to ensure those students who have lagging behaviour skills can have a more focused and cohesive support.
