Due to the Covid19 pandemic IB examinations were cancelled and students' grades awarded based on submitted work and teacher predictions.
We will compare ISP statistics for this year with 5-year historical averages for IB worldwide and adjust this when the IB worldwide statistics for May 2020 become available
ISP has an open admissions policy for the IB Diploma programme and we do not screen or select students based on previous performances. We believe all our students are entitled to the benefits that come with an IB Diploma.
51 of the 52 students taking the exams in May 2020 were awarded the IB Diploma. This represents a pass rate of 98% compared to the worldwide historical average of around 79%.
Every year is a little different but over the past 5 years we’ve maintained an average pass rate of over 90%.
The average points score for ISP students passing the IB Diploma in 2020 was 35.5 compared to an historical IB worldwide average of 29.9.
Every year varies but over the past 5 years we’ve maintained an average total points score of 33.5.
This year’s average total points score exceeded our historical average by a full 2 points!
36 points or more is regarded as a very good IB Diploma result.
59% of our students achieved this result. The worldwide historical average is around 27%.
40 points or more is regarded as an exceptional IB Diploma result. Almost a quarter of our students achieved this result. The historical worldwide average is around 7%.
