Press Releases Prepared by HC Swim Coach, David King
INDIANA, Pa. - On a frigid Thursday night at the John A. Pidgeon Natatorium on the campus of IUP, the Homer-Center Wildcats split their dual meet with the visiting Punxsutawney Chucks, as Homer’s boys powered to a 92–65 victory while the Wildcat girls fell 101–43. The meet also marked Senior Night for the Wildcats, as Homer-Center honored their seniors, Morgan Nagy, Landon Shoup, and Natalia “Tilly” Thomas, three founding members of the program. It was an honor to celebrate the swimmers who helped build the team from the start and have been its steady heartbeat ever since.
The boys set the tone early with a win in the 200 medley relay and never let up on the momentum, stacking points across all 11 events. Individually, Homer had a long list of first-place finishes, including Nagy in the girls’ 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, plus boys’ wins from Blake Lucas (200 free, 100 free), Brady Frazer (200 IM, 100 breast), Tevor Cameron (500 free, 100 back), and Landon Shoup (50 free, 100 fly). The Wildcats also picked up key relay victories, winning the boys’ 200 medley relay with Cameron, Frazer, Chase Shoup, and Nate Bilo, the girls’ 200 freestyle relay with Nagy, Thomas, Andrea Kravetsky, and Maria Frazer, the boys’ 200 freestyle relay with Carter Henry, C. Shoup, L. Shoup, and Lucas, and the boys’ 400 freestyle relay with Cameron, Lucas, L. Shoup, and Frazer.
And even on a night when the air outside felt like it could freeze the deck, Homer-Center still found plenty of warmth in the details that matter most in January: time drops. Several Wildcats delivered, including Blake Lucas (-1.47) in the 200 free, Andrea Kravetsky (-4.80) in the 200 IM, Nathaniel Bilo (-1.35) in the 50 free, Maria Frazer (-1.77) in the 100 back, and Chase Shoup (-1.21) in the 100 breast.
Homer-Center will send a strong group of District VI qualifiers to the championship meet on February 20–21 at Penn State University. Several Wildcats earned qualifying marks in key events, including Morgan Nagy (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Blake Lucas (200 freestyle, 100 freestyle), Brady Frazer (200 IM, 100 breaststroke), Landon Shoup (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly), and Trevor Cameron (500 freestyle, 100 backstroke), with additional individual qualifiers Maria Frazer (50 freestyle) and Nathaniel Bilo (50 freestyle).
With another meet tucked into the season’s logbook, the Wildcats keep moving, out on the road to Marion Center on Wednesday, then back to familiar water on Saturday for the Annual Mark Hess Invitational at IUP. The Mark Hess Invitational is the kind of meet that fills the natatorium with noise and nerves in the best way: lanes packed, times chased, and every race carrying that little extra edge; one more chance to sharpen details before championship season arrives.

Wednesday, January 14, 2026
INDIANA, Pa. - Under the bright lights and echoing cheers of the swim fans at IUP’s John A. Pidgeon Natatorium, the Homer-Center Wildcats turned Wednesday night into a full-team surge, sweeping the Valley Vikings as the Wildcat girls powered to a 64–45 win and the boys sealed the night with a 90–75 victory.
Homer-Center built its night around depth, relay strength, and, most noticeably, time drops across the lineup. Andrea Kravetsky picked up her first varsity win in the girls’ 100 freestyle. She also turned in one of the biggest improvements of the meet, dropping 10.52 seconds in the 100 breaststroke. On the boys’ side, Carter Henry took on a major milestone by swimming his first-ever 500 freestyle. He also delivered one of Homer-Center’s largest time drops, cutting 14.19 seconds in his 200 freestyle.
Homer-Center piled up the first-place finishes all meet long, winning all but two events. The girls' 200 medley relay with swimmers Maria Frazer, Morgan Nagy, Tilly Thomas, and Kravetsky started the meet with a win. The boys' 200 medley relay team of Trevor Cameron, Brady Frazer, Landon Shoup, and Blake Lucas followed. The Wildcats piled on multiple individual victories from Morgan Nagy (200 free; 100 back), Natalia Thomas (200 IM; 100 fly), Landon Shoup ( 200 IM), Maria Frazer (50 free; 500 free), Blake Lucas (50 free; 100 free), Trevor Cameron (100 fly;100 back), Andrea Kravetsky (100 free; 100 breast), and Brady Frazer (100 breast). Homer-Center also swept the relays later with wins in the girls' 200 free relay (Nagy, Thomas, Kravetsky, Frazer), the boys 200 free relay (Nate Bilo, Lincoln Schaldenbrand, Chase Shoup, Henry), and the boys 400 free relay (Lucas, Landon Shoup, Frazer, Cameron). Valley’s first-place finishes came from Damien Mauro in the boys 200 freestyle and boys 500 freestyle.
The Wildcats also piled on several additional time drops on the night. Maria Frazer cut 1.95 seconds off her 50 freestyle, while Trevor Cameron delivered a standout swim in the 100 butterfly, dropping 2.51 seconds to set a new team record. Chase Shoup followed with his own strong improvement in the 100 butterfly, shaving 1.90 seconds. In the sprints, Nathaniel Bilo dropped 1.51 seconds in the 100 freestyle, and Lincoln Schaldenbrand posted a pair of big cuts, which included going 2.93 seconds faster in the 50 freestyle and 3.23 seconds in the 100 backstroke.
With the sweep over Valley and a wave of season-best time drops, the Wildcats will look to keep the momentum rolling when they return to the pool next week on Wednesday, January 22, for a dual meet with Altoona. Homer-Center will be aiming to build on the progress shown tonight, turning hard training into faster swims and another strong team performance against a tough opponent.
INDIANA, Pa. - The Homer-Center Wildcats and Altoona Mountain Lions traded punches in a split dual meet Thursday night, January 22, at IUP’s John A. Pigeon Natatorium. Altoona surged to a 109–43 win on the girls’ side, while Homer-Center answered with a 92–68 victory in the boys’ meet, setting the tone for an energetic night of relays, fast starts, and hard-fought points from the first start to the final touch.
Homer-Center stacked up a season-high 13 first-place finishes, sparked by a trio of individual double-winners. Morgan Nagy captured the girls' 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Trevor Cameron swept the boys 200 IM and 100 backstroke, and Brady Frazer won the boys 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. The Wildcats also owned the sprint lane as Landon Shoup took the boys 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while Blake Lucas powered to wins in the boys 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. In the relays, Homer-Center went three-for-three on the boys' side, winning the 200 medley relay (Cameron, Frazer, Shoup, Lucas), the 200 freestyle relay (Chase Shoup, Nathaniel Bilo, Carter Henry, Lucas), and the closing 400 freestyle relay (Frazer, Shoup, Bilo, Cameron).
Homer-Center piled up a long list of time drops, led by Natalia Thomas, who cut 27.30 seconds in her 500 freestyle and another 2.81 seconds in the 100 butterfly. Andrea Kravetsky posted drops of 2.83 seconds in the 200 IM and 2.53 seconds in the 100 breaststroke, and Maria Frazer improved by 1.01 seconds in the 100 freestyle. Homer-Center stacked up a strong list of PIAA District VI Championship qualifiers, too. Led by Morgan Nagy, qualifying in the girls 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Maria Frazer punching her ticket in the girls 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. On the boys' side, Blake Lucas qualified in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Trevor Cameron in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, and Brady Frazer in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Landon Shoup earned district cuts in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and Chase Shoup added a key qualifier in the 100 butterfly, where his big time drop was what pushed him into district territory. The PIAA District VI Championships are set for February 20–21 at Penn State University.
With another split-meet in the books, the Wildcats won’t have much time to let the echoes fade from the pool deck. Homer-Center is right back in the water on Monday, January 26, traveling to Somerset High School to keep their momentum rolling. The home finale is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, when the Wildcats return for their last home meet of the season, turning the night into more than just lanes and whistles as they pause to celebrate their seniors, the swimmers who’ve logged the long practices, carried the relays, and helped shape this season one hard-earned lap at a time.

Marion Center at Homer-Center-Dual Meet
Wednesday, December 10, 2025
INDIANA, Pa. — The Homer-Center Wildcats turned in a night of gritty races and big time drops Wednesday at IUP’s Jack A. Pidgeon Natatorium, as they faced the Marion Center Stingrays team in dual meet action. Marion Center took the team victories on both sides, winning the girls’ meet 114–47 and, with the absence of several key Homer-Center swimmers, just edged out the boys, 71–68, in a contest that came down to the final relay.
Despite the team scores, Homer-Center swimmers stacked up strong individual wins and major improvements, highlighted by standout performances from senior Morgan Nagy, juniors Brady Frazer, and Trevor Cameron, and freshman Blake Lucas.
Homer-Center opened the boys’ meet with a statement in the 200-yard medley relay, as the quartet of Lucas, Frazer, Chase Shoup, and Cameron took first. Senior captain Morgan Nagy once again anchored the girls’ squad, dominating the 200-yard freestyle and later claiming the 100-yard breaststroke. Freshman Maria Frazer backed her up with a runner-up finish in the 200 IM and a close second in the 100 freestyle.
In the distance events, junior Andrea Krvetsky battled through a tight race in the girls’ 500 freestyle, finishing second, while Lucas cruised to a commanding boys’ 500 freestyle win. On the sprint side, junior Joshalyn Patterson grabbed key points in the girls’ 50 freestyle with a second-place finish, and junior Peyton Strong chipped in points in both the 50 and 100 freestyle for the boys. Cameron continued his strong early-season form with a win in the 100 butterfly and another victory in the 100 backstroke, giving Homer-Center two more event titles on the boys’ side. The breaststroke closed out the individual events on a high note for the Wildcats. Nagy’s 100 breaststroke win led the girls, while Frazer powered to first in the boys’ 100 breaststroke, keeping Homer-Center within striking distance heading into the final relay.
There were several time drops during the meet. Joshalyn Patterson and Peyton Strong both dropped in their 50 freestyles. Carter Henry dropped over eight seconds in his 100-yard butterfly. Andrea Krevetsky had the biggest time drops of the meet with a nine-second drop in the 100 backstroke and an astonishing 13-second drop in the 500 freestyle.
While the scoreboard tilted toward Marion Center, Homer-Center’s narrow three-point loss in the boys’ meet, coupled with multiple event wins and relay breakthroughs, gives the Wildcats plenty of momentum heading into the training portion of their schedule. The Wildcats will look to build on Wednesday’s performances as they return to training.

Monday, December 8, 2025
LORETTO, Pa. – On a cold December evening at St. Francis University, the Homer-Center Wildcats turned up the heat in the pool as they took on the Cambria Heights Highlanders. Homer-Center’s relay strength was on full display as the team of Cameron, Lucas, Frazer, and Nate Bilo swept both the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay, slamming the door on the Highlanders’ comeback hopes.
Several other Wildcats chalked up notable swims. Peyton Strong completed his first-ever 200 freestyle and then dropped more than seven seconds in his 100 freestyle, a huge improvement in a short race. Lincoln Schaldenbrand tackled his first 100 backstroke, already racing the event competitively just after learning the backstroke turn.
