Memories & Thoughts from Today :)
Navigator’s Notes
We started today by (virtually) traveling from Los Angeles to San Diego, California. We visited interesting places like Old Town San Diego, Legoland, and San Diego Zoo. Then our in-person crew welcomed today's guest, Dr. Sean Smith from the University of Hawai‘i Philosophy Department. Dr. Smith talked to us about friendship. It was interesting to hear what philosophers like Aristotle and Buddha said about friendship. Good friends, they said, are essentially important. There are different types of friends. The most enduring and best sort of friendship is a friendship based on the virtue of the friends. We used this talk as inspiration for our p4c wondering: "Is it true that siblings are the best friend that you'll ever have?" Dr. Smith and his son joined in on this interesting discussion.
After lunch we took our final walk to the UH FETCH farm to visit with Uncle Norman. Since today was our last day we celebrated by working together to harvest, clean, and prepare a giant salad. Following up on last week's famous "cheese bracket" p4c discussion, several of our VRT crew also brought cheese so that we could have a cheese tasting. It was so much fun. Making and eating a freshly harvested meal together was a great ending to our time at FETCH!
What is real? A glitch in the program reveals the Matrix (again).
Note: While the content in this clip is philosophically interesting and not bad, Matrix is a rated "R" movie and may not be suitable for younger viewers
