Navigator’s Notes
Today we (virtually) traveled from Florida to Pennsylvania. After a (virtual) visit to Hershey's World (Chocolate!) we had a live Zoom visit with Ranger John from Gettysburg National Military Park. Ranger John told us about the Civil War Battle of Gettysburg and the impact that it has on the people that lived there. Thinking about Gettysburg, we then had a p4c discussion about this question: What is fear?
After a fun lunch our in-person crew walked over to the East-West Center's Japanese Garden. We spent a peaceful hour sketching, talking, and looking at the in fish in the Garden's stream. After this it was back to the UH p4c office for Yoga with Aunty Naoko. Today we worked more on relaxation; learning how to mindfully focus our minds on our bodies and our breathing. Then we did this fun game where we drew cards of yoga poses and then had to do those poses. It was a good afternoon and a good day on the VRT!
Rob is in the "hot seat" (again) and answering all of our questions. It is fun way to get to know each other.
One of our favorite parts of in-person days are our break times! Breaks are only off-task if you define the task too narrowly. They are a great time for us to have fun together, learn from each other, and build our friendships.
