Recaps of our Art Class with Aunty Janell
What happens when the Aunty Janell is in charge!
Beautiful Art!
What happens when Uncle Toby is in charge!
Less refined art.
What happens when the kids are in charge! A massive break in the space-time continuum via photoshop mayhem unleashed upon Uncle Toby's nose.
Memories & Thoughts from Today :)
Navigator’s Notes
Today we visited our longtime friend Ranger Angelina at Niagara Falls State Park in New York. Ranger Angelina and her friends showed us some of their favorite parts about the Falls. We also learned about some of the history of the Falls. It was interesting to hear about the movement in the mid-1800's that ended limited access to the Falls and led to Niagara Falls being established as America's first state park. We also learned that it is illegal and very dangerous to go over the Falls in a barrel.
After our visit to Niagara Falls we (virtually) hit the road. We crossed over the border to see the Falls from the Canadian side. Then we drove through Ontario and crossed back into the U.S. and into Michigan. He drove through Kalamazoo, saw the Honolulu House Museum (a replica of Iolani Palace), and ate lunch at Turkeyville. A long drive followed through Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and finally into Colorado. We spent the night camping in the mountains. We got to play in the snow!
We finished our week in Art class. Aunty Janell taught us about lighting. We sketched objects, thought about where the light was coming from, and included shadows. We also did another drawing where we first shaded the whole paper and then used our eraser to "draw" by making negative space. It was the end to another great week of VRT!
