Memories & Thoughts from Today :)
Navigator’s Notes
Today we got to once again visit with our friend Ranger Lawson at Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park in Maryland. We learned about the landscape that Harriet Tubman grew up in and how her labor and her journey's through this landscape prepared Harriet for the future. Harriet Tubman is such an amazing and inspiring person! She escaped slavery and then went back to the South 13 times to lead other enslaved African Americans to freedom. Thinking about Harriet Tubman led us to think of a very interesting p4c question: Does grace mean that you have to be perfect? We finished our morning by (virtually) traveling from Maryland all the way to Orlando, Florida. We're staying at Disney World tonight!
In the afternoon we had VRT p4c Book Club. We continued to talk about The Phantom Tollbooth. We ended our day with Art class. Aunty Janell taught us about different ways to grip pencils and to draw lines. We did blind contour drawings. In artistic end to a beautiful VRT day!
