Memories & Thoughts from Today :)
Navigator’s Notes
We started our day with a (virtual) journey through South Dakota. We explored Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, and Mount Rushmore National Monument. We saw a lot of bison! After this virtual start to our day our in-person crew met with Emma Irwin. Ms. Irwin teaches in the UH Philosophy Department and is getting her doctoral degree in Philosophy. She specializes in the Indian Advaita Vedantic philosophy. She taught us about that philosophy's view of the self and their answer to the question of "What am I?" It was cool and very thought provoking. Following our visit with Ms. Irwin, we had a p4c discussion. Our topic for today was "What is time?" This was a complex and interesting discussion.
After our morning session we had a nice long lunch break and a little extra free time afterwards. It is nice to see everyone becoming friends. After this we watched the short video "E ‘Ohana Hou" and reflected on the deeper meaning of ‘Ohana as "unleashing grace." Next we went for a little walk and explored the courtyard and small pond at Krause Hall. We ended our day at Yoga class with Aunty Naoko. That was a really relaxing way to finish off another great day together.
What is real? A glitch in the program reveals the Matrix.
Note: While the content in this clip is philosophically interesting and not bad, Matrix is a rated "R" movie and may not be suitable for younger viewers
