You're the Tops

Materials Needed:

  • small tops

  • timer

Directions:

  • using just your thumb, index, and middle fingers, spin the top

  • try it 10 times

  • see how long you can keep it spinning

Goals:

  • separation of the two sides of the hand

  • hand muscle development

Modifications:

  • make sure the pinky and ring finger are curled up and stabilized in the palm

  • arms placed on table gives more stability, making the task easier

  • arms hanging in space gives less stability, making the task harder
