Pen Top Printing
Materials Needed:
cap to a uniball pen or any other flat top cap, 1/4" to 1/2" in diameter
clay or theraputty
table top easel
toothpick
shapes to trace
Directions:
flatten the clay onto the tabletop easel
with a toothpick, draw a shape, letter, or path on the clay
hold the pen cap in a tripod grasp
pres the open end of the cap into the clay and pull it out
this will leave a circle print
using only your thumb, pointer, and middle fingers, turn the cap over
make a print with the flat end of the cap, next to the circle just printed
repeat this alternating pattern around the whole shape
Modifications:
push the pen cap hard into the c lay to cut out a hold for every impression
make pictures fit a science or math lesson (worm path, eel track, somple addition problems, etc.)
