Straw Cut and String
Materials Needed:
straws
flat lacing string or
scissors
Directions:
cut straws into inch-long pieces using proper scissor grasp
push the lace through with the right hand, sliding the fingers back along the lace as you go
continue pushing along until the bead comes to the end of the lace
then pick up the beginning of the lace and repeat
make a bracelet by knotting the two ends together once completely strung
Goals:
shift/in-hand manipulation
separation of the two sides of the hand
Modifications:
make sure the pinky and ring finger are curled up and stabilized in the palm
arms placed on table gives more stability, making the task easier
arms hanging in space gives less stability, making the task harder
