Disappearing Sponge Art
Materials Needed:
blackboard
sponges (different shapes, textures, densities, and thickness)
bucket of water
Directions:
place sponges in water
student to pick up and wring out the sponge with both hands
press the sponge against the blackboard to leave a print
can make design or copy one provided
Goal:
awareness to sense of touch
finger strengthening
hand separation
wrist extension if working on a vertical
Modifications:
working on a vertical for wrist extension
thicker density sponges provided for increased resistance when squeezing
letter sponges can be used for spelling
