I am an Arizona native who had a wonderful experience attending Glendale Community College. I started as an adjunct in the Fitness and Wellness department in 2003 after obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Arizona State University. I maintained my part time adjunct position at Glendale Community College while obtaining a Master's Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University, teaching high school math, teaching for the College of Education at Grand Canyon University, mentoring new faculty at Grand Canyon University, and acting as the lead online teacher for Deer Valley's Online Learning Program.
I had the pleasure of teaching an Exercise Science course at Glendale Community College in the Spring of 2017 to cover for a colleague who was on maternity leave. I enjoyed the class so much that I went back to school for a second master's degree in Exercise Science with the hope of teaching additional courses for the department. I completed my second master's in Exercise Science and earned a graduate certificate in Fitness and Health Promotion in December of 2018.
I am also a nationally certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, and Human Movement Specialist. I have completed additional training to teach Functional Strength, Functional Movement, Step by Design, Aerobic Fusion, Silver Sneakers, Stability Ball, BOSU, Athletic Challenges, TRX, TRX's Ripped Trainer, Latin Step, Power Ball, Pilates, Power Flex, Cycle, Kwando Strike, Kwando Spar, and PIYO. I am very grateful for the opportunity to teach at Glendale Community College, and I have been having a wonderful experience.
I currently teach EXS101- Introduction to Exercise Science, HES100- Healthful living, and HES210- Cultural Aspects of Health and Wellness.
