Yearbook Cover Contest - 5th graders only

The yearbook cover contest is open to the current 5th graders. The top two winning designs will be used as the front and back covers of the 2024-2025 yearbook. The first and second place winners will receive a free yearbook.

Please refer to the details below. The deadline for design submission is Monday, December 9, 2024. All

the entries must be scanned, saved as a jpg file and named as "Room #_Full Name of the Student", and emailed to yearbook@mvsa-fremont.org by the deadline.

Guidelines:

• Draw your design on a plain white 8 1/2" x 11" copy paper.

• Leave a 2" margin on top from sketching.

• Your design should include a brief slogan with a maximum of 8 words (For example: "Our Time to Shine" or "Shoot for the stars").

• The artwork must be original and should not include any copyrighted characters such as Pokémon, Disney characters, etc.

• The design should include our school name and the current school year: Mission Valley, 2024 - 2025.

• The design should be colored. Please trace your final design with a black Sharpie pen and make a few sketch copies before coloring, in case coloring fails. You can also scan the sketch design first and use coloring apps with the computer. Please try to use our school color blue as the background color.

• ●The design must be scanned, saved as a jpg file and named as"Room#_Student's Full Name", and emailed to yearbook@mvsa-fremont.org.

Before/After School Extended Day Program

Families at Mission Valley may enroll their child in a before and after school extended day program with the YMCA. Families with students who are designated in one or more specific categories (English learners, foster youth, homeless students, migrant students, and students who are free or reduced-price meal eligible) may be eligible to participate in the YMCA Program at Mission Valley at no cost through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P). Please submit the ELO-P application to determine eligibility and visit the FUSD ELO-P website for details or contact Zeah Izaz at zizaz@ymcaestbay.org.
