Hello Mission Valley Elementary Families,

'Tis the season for giving and gratitude! Thank you to our amazing community for making our Kids Against Hunger meal packing event a success. We could not have done it without the volunteers from Mission Valley families, the KAH organization, and Jabil Company. It was such a gratifying and enriching experience for our students to work as one and be able to give back to our community. Together we surpassed our donation goal and raised $5,364.64 and packed 16,416 meals! As promised I wore a beaver costume on Spirit Day and visited each of our classrooms to congratulate them and celebrate our success. Here is the link to the YouTube video to document our event.

We are so appreciative of the many ways our families have supported our students and school. The annual Busy Beavers fundraiser brought in more than $17,000 in donations. The campaign has ended but we are still accepting donations throughout the year. Your generosity helps provide student access to our computer lab, upkeep of technology, and other events and activities organized through the Mission Valley School Association (MVSA). Our team of crosswalk volunteers is in full effect and we can always use more volunteers before or after school so please sign up on Konstella for the remaining open spots.

Our last community event to mark this season of giving is the Tri City Toy Drive. You may have already seen donation bins around Fremont! The Mission Valley drive will be December 12-16th. There will be a marked bin in the corridor next to the office. Bring your new and unwrapped toys to the school bin. Should you need guidance, here is their suggested donation list. We hope to continue spreading the cheer and joy to families in our community.

For any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Be sure to check out our school website for the most current information regarding events, schedules, and contact information. You can also read the scrolling messages on our marquee near the valet entrance. GO BEAVERS!

Attendance and Tardies

Daily attendance and being on time are crucial factors in how successful children are in school. You are helping your children to set lifelong patterns when you prioritize their attendance in school and their arrival on time. Tardies interfere with instruction in the classroom, both in terms of the time the student is missing from the classroom and the disruption the student causes when he/she arrives. Education Code 48260.5 has strict guidelines for families to follow when truancy (absences) or tardies are a concern. A letter will be sent home to notify you when your child’s attendance record begins to suffer. Please help us to help your child learn responsible work habits by getting them to school on time. School starts at 8:20am every day.
