Welcome everybody! Finally, we get to introduce ourselves in our fourth issue.
Daniela Wennström - Creative Director and Editor in Chief
Hej!
In English:
Hey! I'm Daniela and I am the creative director, and editor in chief, for the Mattliden Bulletin. My pronouns are she / her. I love working with Mattliden's Bulletin because then I get to work with graphic design. I get to plan and build a nice website and all this is something I could well imagine working with. I do not read much with books, but am a big fan of podcasts and audiobooks.
I paint a lot in my spare time, but also sew clothes. What I paint is usually landscapes, but also objects and some abstracts. I use canvas and acrylic paint. In the future, I hope to be able to paint more and also sell my artwork. In addition to painting, I of course like clothes. I'm a "shopaholic" but usually buy my clothes second hand, because there are the best things. Something no one else has. My hobbies are singing and modeling.
After Mattliden, I hope to be able to study design either in Aalto, in London or New York. I have always been very goal oriented and I work hard to achieve what I want. In Mattliden, I'm part of EK, The Mattliden Bulletin, Tutor, Olden dance committee, Mattliden hoodie committee and ABI committee. In addition, I am part of the ERASMUS project at school, which you can read about in an earlier issue. So I keep pretty busy.
Peik
Hello, I am Peik.
Runo Mäkeläinen
What's your favourite movie and why?
Runo enjoys Marvel movies and series, but naming one is impossible because all of them suck in one way or another according to them. If they want to be very niche Anna Carenina the Russian version not the American version, which is considerably worse. Inkheart is another movie Runo enjoys. It is based on a book of the same name by Cornelia Funke. They enjoy Inkheart because of its emotional nostalgia value and they love the book. But it is very hard to choose a movie off the top of the head and that is why all of these are quite random choices.
Why Mattliden Bulletin?
CAS.
What’s your favourite book and why?
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson. In Crooked Kingdom Runo enjoys the character relations and found family trope. It also has fantasy LGBT and disability representation. Runo also enjoys Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, because to an extent they relate to the story.
What do you most regret in life?
Coming to the IB. (Not really. This was said in a lovingly comical sense)
Jasmine Finnilä
Hi, my name is Jasmine. I would describe myself as a fairly creative person. I like creating art, playing instruments once in a while but mostly listening to music. I like all kinds of music, whether it is alternative rock, LoFi or my personal favourite, RnB. Exploring different types of music genres and expanding my playlists is definitely something I find joy in in my free time, and I think everything gets better with music. Other than that, reading, cycling and hanging out with friends are a few of my other favourite activities.
Why did you join the Mattlidens Bulletin's Club?
I like challenging myself to do new things. The Mattlidens Bulletin's Club offered the challenge of being creative and exploring new things.
Oliver
Hi, I'm Oliver and I'm in IB2. I like writing and puzzles, and I listen to music quite a lot. I'm also interested in psychology and philosophy, and I have a pretty chaotic sense of humor. I spend a lot of time indoors watching movies, tv-shows or youtube, but I also like taking walks.
