Hello from Mattliden’s Student Council!

What do we do, and why? Who are the Student Council? What can the Student Council do? 

The Student Council is a group of students from Mattliden, who are elected by the entire student body to represent them internally and externally. The Student Council manages matters in the school, such as benches and coffee machines. We mean to enhance the comfort of everyone in our school. If you have a suggestion of how we can do this, we are here to listen and do what we can. 

During the past few years, the council has arranged events and free coffee for students to keep up the good spirit. Coffee stands, valentines day greetings, Halloween, Christmas coffee and glögi; that’s all us! At the end of the school year, we arrange an event called Mattdagen or Mattday, which includes various fun activities such as cook-offs and movies. 

We sponsor the clubs in our school. We help manage them and also offer money for supplies etc. The clubs include Debate Club, Theatre Club, and the Bulletin (which is where you are reading this for!) and we hope to have even more soon. 

This year we will offer the students a new coffee machine so that high school students don’t need to use the comprehensive school’s machine. We will continue with events and free coffee of course!
