Sun bears are cute!

Sun bears are very cute animals that love eating grubs. Sun bears don’t just eat grubs they also eat fruit, nuts, berries, honey, insects, eggs and small animals such as rodents. One of sun bears favorite foods is honey they love eating honey so some people call sun bears honey bears.

Sun bears can be found on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Sun bears can also be found In forests of Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and there are also a few remote populations of sun bears in eastern India and southern China. They like staying at places with lots of trees.

The sun bear is one of the smallest bears in the world. Sun bears can grow up to 1.4 meters. Sun bears have black fur and a yellow orange crescent shape on their belly. Sun bears eye color is black.

Fun Fact: sun bears use their claws to rip open trees and search for food. Sun bears predators are Leopards, Tigers and large pythons. Sun bears tongues can be 20-25 cm long, an average human tongue is 10 cm so a sun bears tongue is double the size of a human tongue.
