Lemon Myrtle tea is claimed to assist with freeing blood flow and to help with coughs, colds and stress. Lemon Myrtle can also be used in shampoo, lotion, soaps and skin whitening. You can also use lemon Myrtle in cooking and food such as a dipping sauce, cake, biscuits, Ice creams and meat dishes.

Lemon Myrtle prefers to be protected from the full sun when it is not fully grown. If you don’t have any shade nearby the plant will tolerate the sun.

It has attractive dark green leaves, a low-branching habit and is adorned with clusters of white flowers in summer. You can make lemon myrtle essential oil with honey for relief from sore throat.

If lemon Myrtle is cooked for to long it loses it's lemon flavour and an unpleasant eucalyptus taste will take over. There are some un-researched claims, that the intense aromatic aroma of the lemon Myrtle leaves stems can cause a laughing effect.
