APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course guides the students into the world of set design for cinema.
The students will learn new types of staging for artistic performances, events, music videos, advertisement and tv shows, with a focus on serial and cinematographic production. Over the course, the students learn set design through theoretical lessons, projects and laboratories. In this way, they learn how to analyse the most significant scenarios of our contemporary cultural production, and how to devise their personal projects with full methodological awareness. They are hence granted the right approach to the professional world.
This course is made of a single module of 6 CFA credits = 6 ECTS
Successful students will be able to:
Decode elements and languages of performing arts and their cultural context.
Analyse complex issues related to the world of performing arts, and identify, among different project solutions, the most suitable and efficient one.
Elaborate suitable and efficient creative solutions based on a solid methodology, supported by research and analysis.
The course introduces the students to the field of set design, highlighting the strengths of an ever-evolving methodology of instruction that has an eye on new forms of representation in the audiovisual world.
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Over the course, the students will carry out the following didactic activities, which may vary depending on the themes that will be developed.

Assessment criteria may include:
Graded exercises
Creation of a multimedia installation
