APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course goes in-depth on the students' understanding and expertise in editing and post-production. The work on images will be the starting point to go in-depth on the semiotic implications of the related different forms of realism and belief capability, to develop well-structured considerations on the potential, testimonial and ethical limits of images while they ask their viewers to believe what they show. The potential of editing is investigated in its emotional and rhythmic form, and in its re-enactment of space and time. The course also fosters the students' practical professional skills in managing and designing the editing and postproduction phases of audio-visual projects.
This teaching is made of a single module of 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
Successful students will be able to:
Know and correctly use visual effects compositing techniques
Design the creation of digital visual effects
Implement artistic choices in the creation of digital visual effects
Manage complex editing projects
History of visual effects
Post-production workflow
Advanced editing techniques
This is a theoretical/project based course.
During the course, the students will carry out the following didactic activities, which may vary depending on the projects that will be developed:
Front lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual study or research
Assessment criteria may include:
Graded exercises with a final oral exam
Practical exam
